In the same time the game is heavily marketed towards hard core Diablo 2 fans and much is done to 'please them' enough so that they play it as well. Well, it seems like they want to attract mostly casual players, but not only. What kind of ARPG players does D4 want to attract? Read the whole post for more details if you feel like it. Again, not because D4 is bad or something, but because they want to please different type of ARPG players. So even if I was a bit afraid that LE will lose tons of players when D4 comes out, I don't think this will happen anymore. The mechanics and core decisions in the games are so different that it would be extremally hard not to compare all the time and with that the aspect you dislike was completely different in the game you like less. I explain why in the 'whole post' as I call it. Diablo 4 tries to pleases everybody with all the risks that come from that.Īnd yes, it is possible to enjoy both games and switch between them from time to time, but in my opinion most people will choose not to. Last Epoch knows its target group and makes a game that is fantastic just for it. The rest would feel kind of 'meh' or even annoying if you turn out to be a dedicated LE fan or D4 fan respectively. There is only a handful of points that overlay and both player bases would enjoy. Those are games for different audiences, different ARPG-fans niches.

I sort out and give only the arguments that most players can relate to. I will try to explain my points in a decent manner, without empty frasses and subjective extremes + with analysis and concrete examples. As you will see this post will not be a hate post towards Diablo 4.
